Compare Animals Function

An exciting new update has been made to the Sheep Genetics search site!

To allow for easy comparison of animals, Sheep Genetics have created a new function on the search site. This function is known as the compare animals page and allows for the direct comparison of ASBV results on up to 5 animals.

Selecting animals 

Search for a group on animals on the Sheep Genetics search site, then use the tick box on the right-hand side to select up to 5 animals to compare side-by-side. 

1. Set up your search with your required search criteria i.e. breed, sex, year drop and your ASBV trait selection. 
2. Simply select up to 5 animals you want to compare using the tick boxes on the right, and your selections will appear at the bottom of the screen. 
   • You can swap your 5 selected animals in and out easily by clicking the check box to select and the x at the bottom of the screen to unselect.
3. Click the compare button to take you to a side-by-side comparison of  the selected animals.

Once you are on the compare page, your selected animals will be visible across the page, with each trait and piece of information lined up for ease of comparison, including: 

1. Animal ID 
2. Flags in the analysis including genomics, for sale, etc. 
3. Pedigree information 
4. ASBV of a standard list of traits 
5. Accuracy of the ASBV 
6. Percentile highlights for the top 5%, 10% and 20%  

Individual animal pages for each animal and any pedigree can be accessed by clicking on the relevant ID. To update traits or animals selected, simply click back on the webpage.
